The Principles of Driving to an Acceptable IAM Fleet Taxi Driver Programme Standard
• Does the delegate use speed to make smooth progress?
• Does the delegate have due regard to passenger comfort while accelerating and braking.
• Does the delegate have due regard to passenger comfort while negotiating corners and bends.
• Does the delegate have a regard for the safety of other road users, including pedestrians.
• Does the delegate display a sound knowledge of the current edition of the Rules of the Road?
• Does the delegate display consideration to other road users while collecting and disembarking passengers?
• Does the delegate steer the vehicle safely.
• Are all the gears smoothly and correctly selected?
• Are all the vehicle controls used with sensitivity?
• Does the delegate anticipate and react correctly to situations developing ahead.
• Are all signals, signs and road markings observed, obeyed and approached correctly.
• Are overtaking manoeuvres carried out smoothly and safely?
• Does the delegate exercise proper restraint when the roads are wet or slippery?
